Roger
Bolton started in the Post Production industry in 1997 doing support,
demos and training for discreet Flame and Inferno systems in Australia.
After making the jump from the technical side to being a visual
effects artist, I gained credits as a compositor on a number of feature filmsincluding "Lord of the Rings: Fellowship of the Ring" and more recently
"Kingdom of Heaven" and "Charlie and the Chocolate Factory".
In addition to my experience as a feature film compositor, I have been a senior flame artist and online editor on a number of high profile international commercialsduring which I gained extensive experience working closely with
clients, doing on-set visual effects supervision and quoting on vfx
breakdowns with senior producers. These include Singapore Airlines
"The World is getting smaller" completed at Emerald City Design, Scion
"Teleporter" completed at Ambience and Natasha Beddingfield "Unwritten"
music video completed with Babyfoot Productions.
Since 2005 I have been working with UK live visuals and audiovisual act Inside-Us-Alland have been involved in design of live video installations, directing
and producing a live audio visual act and other design work.
In 2007, I formed CoreMelt,
a company which successfully designs and sells a number of effects
plugins for Final Cut Pro and Motion, using technology created by Noise Industries.
I
am currently available for freelance work on Shake, Flame or Inferno as
a senior compositor / online editor or visual effects supervisor.
VFX artist Roger Bolton has worked on films including The Lord of the Rings, Charlie and The Chocolate Factory and Kingdom of Heaven. He has also created effects for his own use -- in this case, a wide variety of 2D and 3D VU meters, automatically animated by the audio in your project. He now offers these 8 plug-ins to artists using Final Cut Pro, After Effects and Motion -- with no watermarks, no time limits, no price tag. Please note: these plug-ins are MAC ONLY.
Alongside such compositing projects as "The Lord of the Rings" and "Charlie and the Chocolate Factory," Roger Bolton designs "CoreMelt Visual Effects" for Final Cut Pro and Motion. They take advantage of Apple's core video technology for amazing high-quality, real-time performance. This tutorial shows you how to harness that power to solve an age-old problem: how to quickly and creatively create image montages. Best of all, you'll find links to free effects filters, exclusively available to Cow readers!
