Pushing the not so big four-oh, David Chandler-Gick -- "I keep celebrating my 23rd birthday. 29 and holding is so passe" -- and his wife Cheri Dinnen-Gick (married on Halloween, 1997) are the driving force behind a deveraux film and Dynamic Media Group.
Founded in 1987, Backyard Productions was David’s brainchild, producing
video programs for referral clients only. When David and Cheri "hooked
up" they took the company "public" in 1995. In 1999, they began to
market their corporate and industrial services under the Dynamic Media
Group banner, clearly establishing a distinction from their private and
event services. The last couple years have seen a shift, Backyard Productions becoming a deveraux film with the addition of photography, and a focus on only weddings.
David’s online experience stems back to the good ole days of the Video
Machine Users Group on Compuserve (anyone remember Compuserve?)
Soon after, he discovered the Fast Webboard hosted by Clesson Duke, and
WEVA and it’s forums, where he soon made people stand up and THINK with
his outspoken and often insightful discussions. "Right
or wrong, if I convinced one person to think for themselves and not
simply follow the pack like a lemming, then I’m happy."
David says that "Cheri is the best thing to ever happen to him" and that he’s "...a Capricorn and a cat person. Cats think for themselves. Gotta love that."
Since 1985, he’s been working on an unfinished novel, "Writer’s Block"
To date, one page is complete. In the meantime he's a contributing
editor for EventDV magazine.
