Elvis
studied animation and television news production at Dawson College in
Montreal. In January 1998, he moved to Ontario, and attended Humber
College's newly started 3D course. During that year, he co-directed a
team to create the animated music video Coolie's Sake for rock band hydrofoil.
In 2001, Elvis started to experiment with new animation styles. The result was The Treasure of Wunday, an experimental short film that made heavy use of particleIllusion for backgrounds and effects.
Currently, he works on his own animated shorts and creating effects for
independent films, taking the occasional break to work on his comic
strip, Shocking Tales, and a novel, Ezilio the Tyrant.
Setting up projects, how to use all the tools, basic emitter creation -- it's all on this DVD, along with a healthy dose of tips and tricks that will save you time when creating particle effects.
You can find Elvis Deane hosting in Creative COW's
particle Illusion forum.
Have you ever created an effect in which your actor is throwing a fireball? Pretty cool effect, right? But something's wrong. It doesn't quite look real. In this video tutorial, Creative Cow Leader Elvis Deane demonstrates relighting an actor that's throwing a fireball which will add realism to the effect.
CreativeCOW leader Elvis Deane has been asked a few hundred times now how he blew himself up using particleIllusion, and until now the entire tutorial of how to do this was only available on his video tutorial CD. So, by popular demand, here is how to blow up your friends or family safely and effectively.
particleIllusion is used for alot of effects work, from blowing things up, to psychedelic color blasts, and lighting stuff on fire. In this tutorial, Elvis Deane demonstrates something a little different. We're going to use particles to disintegrate a logo.
