Article Focus:
Key framed alignment of video to audio. In this tutorial from RE: Vision Effects, Lori Freitag covers the basic concept of aligning a video track to a different audio track using Twixtor. As an example we lip-synch an outdoor shoot to a studio recording.

Sometimes the audio that was recorded with a certain video is not usable, and recording a new audio track that corresponds exactly is simply not possible. So in these cases you might need to retime the video track to match the new audio track. Note: in the tutorial the sound of the new audio (with no wind) would not match unless we retimed the video track, and if you couldn’t see a difference after we retimed it with Twixtor , then Twixtor is doing its job!

Keep in mind that this tutorial talks about lipsynching, but you might want to sync some other actions or activity to music or other audio track, for a more special effect-like result. For example, the first movie on our Twixtor Gallery page uses the same technique: http://www.revisionfx.com/products/twixtor/gallery/

Thanks,
Lori

On playing it over and over it did seem to synch a bit better... but I don't get it... why would you synch various different sounds?

Why wouldn't you just find that single sound on video and audio?

What lip-synch?

I'm not sure if there was anything wrong on the streaming causing double lip-synch problems, but I could not see any improvement at all except getting rid of the wind issue!

I hope this was just a streaming problem!

Regards
Daniel
