1. Particle Playground is an extremely powerful effects factory and through practice I have discovered many uses. In getting started though, it worth having a look at a simple yet pleasing effect. We begin with a blank layer and apply Particle Playground. We adjust the force of gravity, tweak the velocity and particle number settings to provide us with rising stream.
2. We then do something very simple, apply a Fast Blur to the rising stream, vary the amounnt of blur and we have rising smoke.
3. Not to stop there though, we can go further and draw a custom mask. In the Particle Playground dialogue box we then tell the particles that the mask is a wall, and we get..
4. Now the wall will restrict the flow of particles giving us this end result.
