Hi! My name's Michael, I am 31 years old and live in Germany.
Although
my job (network administrator) exclusively deals with computers (which
i like) it does not satisfy the creative side of me. So i do
video/compositing/sfx/vfx as a hobby - after sitting in front of a
computer the whole day I look forward to sit in front of another
computer although this time doing some fun stuff using nle or
compositing software.
(Well, i have other hobbies too, so i don't spend my whole life in front of a screen).
Now and then i do some vfx work for no/low budget video productions, mostly free of charge.
In this tutorial, Michael Mey demonstrates using some simple operators in Combustion to make a castle look like it's burning. The intent of this article is to show how selections and particles can be combined to make some elements of the picture to be in front of the particles effects and others to be behind.
