hi, i have trapcode particular v2.0 and after watching this tutorial, in the trapcode particular it doesn't have the option to change to "custom" when i get to the part where you say change "sphere" to "custom".

The 3D is so cool Mike, I just tried that (still new to Particular anyway) but changed how the particles rotate and toyed with the gravitational field and air resistance, its a a lot of fun.

Worked great, though my particle didn't come out as nice; so I played around and replaced the particle with a rose petal image I have. Great tut, thank you ;)

No CUSTOM selection in Particular 2.0?

Figured it out! Custom's been replaced by Sprites and Polygons. If you select one of these then it will allow you to select your custom shape layer.

I've got exactly the same problem, Custom is not on the Particle type list, so I don't know how to proceed to create the desired effect.

Hi I followed this tutorial step by step up until I needed to tell the particle to use the CUSTOM particle type. It isn't in the list so I couldn't link it to the particle i created!!! Do you think using a trial version of Trapcode Particular could be the problem?

I just tried the link and it works fine. Perhaps the server was busy, we've been getting a heavy amount of traffic and will be adding another tutorials servers next week.

The new tutorial should be up soon, hopefully. I know that the website has been going through some modifications with servers and the like. The new tutorial is done and just needs to be put up on the servers.

Thanks for the positive feedback. Particular is a very powerful plugin and is great for all kinds of effects. If you liked this tutorial, I have an advanced tutorial which should be posted very soon in which I recreate this effect, but use the rotation of the particle in all 3d axis to control the color and brightness of the glitter particle. You should check it out. Once again, thanks for the kind words.
