Article Focus: In this video tutorial, Creative Cow contributing editor Grant Swanson will explain how to use the After Effects Motion Tracker to remove unwanted jitter and movement while still retaining the original motion of the sequence through the use of an expression or manual keyframes.
I would like to thank you so much for your tutorial. It is great and I am amazed that EVEN WHEN IT IS FREE, some people aren't satisfied. Keep posting this content and you can smack your lips, belch or "cut the cheese", even record your audio in a bathroom--just don't worry about the ungrateful people of the world who complain about everything.
Nice and interesting thing with the expression. But you might not need either position keyframes nore the expression. Just converting the tracking date into y coordinates would have done.
No Worries. I hope I didn't offend...that's not why I wrote it. I used to
be a TV news reporter and editing my own voice track was tough enough as it
was, since I used to do the same thing. Keep up the cool tutorials, though...they're really helpful.
Great tutorial, Grant. Thanks. My only problem (and it's a little one) is to PLEASE edit your voice-over if possible. Take out the instances where you swallow and smack your tongue before you speak (like your mouth is dry or you're nervous or something). It's really distracting from an otherwise great tutorial.
UPDATE: If you decide to set keyframes manually, try selecting them all and hitting "F9" to smooth the motion even further. You may or may not like the way this looks, but give it a try.
