The only reason the beam was showing at 0 and 100in the beam version is that the beam placement is based on the center point of the placement, and the beam goes out from that half the distance of the beam thickness (in each direction). So to fix it you can just make the beam travel plus and minus half the distance of the beam width. Using your equation (and adding a thickness grabbed from the comp) you can adjust it to

The only reason I added the 2 pixels to the thickness was that the antialiasing caused it to bleed over from the left (at 0% transition) | | | | |
