AE Basics - A Creative COW series for new users of Adobe After Effects. Lesson 44: In this (more advanced) tutorial, Andrew Devis shows the options to change the way text moves through its range and explains how to change this from the default smooth animation to a much more 'digital' or abrupt instant change. Andrew then goes on to demonstrate more of the advanced options in the timeline to 'shape' your text so that it can have a more interesting or dramatic look allowing for the type of animation that would be very difficult to achieve otherwise.

Hi Hariharan

Thank you for you messages :o) it's great to hear that you are finding the tutorials helpful.

As for the number in the series, to be honest I haven't planned a specific number. What I do is record a series of tutorials on a topic and then upload them to Creative Cow who publish the basic tutorials at a rate of 1 a week. So for instance, this week I'm planning to get on a record a series on paint in AE as well as perhaps another tutorial which looks at a CS6 option.

Also, make sure you check out my AE tutorials in the main After Effects page as I have done quite a few learning type tutorials in there including a recent 5 tutorial series on working in 3D as well as a 2 part tutorial on creating a rotating counter.

Anyway, the short answer is that I don't know how many there will be, but there is still quite a few more to record :o)

I just started watching your AE basics tutorial last week. Completed until timeline so far. I can't thank you enough, for the way you put together everything in detail and very understandable to layman like me. I am so excited to watch all your tutorials to learn the foundation as strong as i can. How many tutorials left to complete overall basics? Is it more than 44 that you are planning?
