Stereoscopic 3D (S3D) is a new feature in Sony Vegas Pro 10. Creative COW leader Michael Hurwicz takes you through the basics of creating S3D in Vegas, including setting the 3D mode, importing clips for the left and right views, pairing the clips, adjusting and correcting the 3D footage, and rendering. Includes the .VEG file and left and right eye clips used in the tutorial, as well as two 3D renders: anaglyphic and side-by-side.

You're interested in doing this in Vegas? If so, I suggest you start a new thread in the Vegas forum. I don't think your question relates to this tutorial.

Kevin:

I don't know what could be happening. I just downloaded the project files, started from scratch with a new Vegas file, paired the .MOV files, applied the "Stereoscopic 3D Adjust" and found that everything works as advertised, including both the horizontal offset and the Auto Correct.

All I can suggest is to try the Vegas forum, where you may find someone who has encountered a similar problem.

Sorry I can't be more help.

I am following this tutorial, trying to recreate each of the steps performed. However, when I try to use "Stereoscopic 3D Adjust", I drag the Horizontal offset to the left and right, but the anaglyph preview does not change. The red "ghosting" in the checkerboard background is still on the right, and the cyan on the left.

What's more, if I click "AutoCorrect", the process gets to 27% complete, and then returns an error message: "Unable to find enough similarities in images to correct automatically"

What could I be doing wrong here? The project has been set up as a stereo project, the two movies (caml_cone.mov and camr_cone.mov) have been added to separate tracks and "paired" as shown in the tut. This is the first thing I've tried, and I can't get past stage 1! I'm at a loss. HELP!

I have vegas pro 10 and am considering experimenting with 3D.

I am looking at purchasing the consumer Sony 3 d camera just coming out now, HDR-TD10.

The specs say the camera records in mvc, which is apparently an ammendment to the avc spec.

Will Vegas be able to import the mvc format 3 d video?

This thread suggests that the ability is not there now but will be:

Also that this camera is only "for fun."

Hi -
In the files that go with this 3D project, I accidentally put two side-by-side renders and no anaglyphic render. To download an anaglyphic render, go to:
http://www.greendept.com/ccow/anaglyphic/

This file is now also included in the project files in the renders folder.
