Guest Profile:

David H. Lawrence has been a member of The COW community since 2005, but only recently, since the launch of FCP X, has he become truly active in the forums. And, he's quickly become one of the most visible and respected members of the FCP X Forum, because he has a truly unique perspective that makes his point of view quite compelling.

Take a look at the link below you'll know immediately why people are paying attention to David. What you'll see is a paper co-authored by David in 1987, when he was a designer/producer/researcher at Lucasfilm Ltd., where he was part of a team who wrote the functional spec for what would arguably become the world's first database managed, object-oriented, non-linear editing system.

Like many long-time Final Cut Pro users, David had developed very high expectations over the years while the editing world waited for the release of the highly anticipated new version of Final Cut Pro. But, that all changed when the FCP X was released on June 21st.

To say that David now has "concerns" about the future of Final Cut would be an understatement of the highest order. So, listen in, and find out why David is speaking out now and why you should be paying attention.

Here he introduces a 5-part series, taking you step-by-step from project set-up to delivery, ready to help other broadcast pros get moving with FCPX.
