I tried using the jiggle at beat with a music clip i have and my square became so small i could hardly see it. is this because maybe the music sound was low?
@Camille Katz
by Andrew Devis
I would probably need to see your project to work out what's happened! Instead of using a beat at the moment, try using markers to start with and see if you can get it going with the 'Jiggle at Markers' comp?

Hi Andrew,
I used all the markers already and so wanted to do something more advanced.
after i watched one of your later videos i realized that i had pulled the scale of the square's pikwik to the music beat level.
therefore when it hit 7 in the music the scale of the square became 7px. i now figured out how to do it right with the four numbers outside of the brackets.
Thank you for all your help!

NOTE: Adobe templates can be found here http://www.adobe.com/cfusion/exchange/index.cfm?event=extensionDetail&loc=e... on the Adobe website - Download them and use them!

Hi Andrew,

Are these templates just for cs5? i couldn't find them even searching for the name in the cs6 version. (i'm on a pc)
do i have to go download them and install them or something?

Thanks for the cool tutorial! I can't wait to start using them!

Hi Camille

Adobe have decided to dump the templates in CS6 - probably because there are lots of other templates out there (free and paid for) and the old templates are all designed for smaller older screen sizes.

However, along with the templates going they have also lost the Expression Sampler project which is the basis of this tutorial!! So, if you email me through my website http://www.tale2tell.com I will see if I can email you over the Expression Sampler project to get going with.

In the meantime I'll contact Adobe and see if I can't upload the original template as a project file to go with this tutorial.

Thank you Andrew!

I actually found after a long while of googling that Adobe actually has the templates package on some page on their website for download!
So i downloaded it and will install it now.
Thank you!

Btw here's the link in case anyone else needs it: http://www.adobe.com/cfusion/exchange/index.cfm?event=extensionDetail&extid...

Hi Martin, sorry you're having trouble getting this to work. It does sound like a marker issue. Have you made sure you are using layer markers and not comp markers?

Tried again but not the 'with marker' comp. That works!
So it's something to do with markers (Shift 8)?
Re: Hidden Templates & Powerful Expressions

I've followed this three or four times and it doesn't work for me (CS5)!
Any ideas?

Searched for Expression Sampler.aet and couldn't find any..even templates folders at all..
I'm using CS5 (PC).
Is there any way to download them anywhere? At official adobe site or anywhere else?
@Slava Bustrov
by Andrew Devis
Hi, sorry you are having trouble finding the Template Folder. I had a look on the Adobe site and I couldn't find it anywhere. However, you could email support and ask them to help you find it as it should have installed with the product. I have it on both CS4 and CS5 on PC. The only thing might be if you aren't using a full commercial version? I don't know if it is included in the student version or not.

Sorry if it isn't on macs in cs4. I know it is on macs for cs5 and pcs for cs4 & 5. My only suggestion is to search "Expression Sampler.aet" through the finder and see if it can be found through that - but if it's not there then I guess it is cs5 only. Andrew

where are they on a Mac
Re: Hidden Templates & Powerful Expressions
by Andrew Devis
Hi, it is in CS4 - I double checked in my own files (PC). However, I think I can remember a training course a year or so ago where there was a problem with some macs not showing it in CS4. The string you need to search is Expression Sampler.aet . Hope this helps
