Singular Software is making it easier than ever to connect its PluralEyes with Adobe CS6. Having launched a greatly simplified integration between PluralEyes software and Adobe Premiere Pro CS6. Users can download PluralEyes Connector here.

The company also opened a public beta of PluralEyes 3.0 for editors using Adobe Premiere Pro editors (OS X) and Final Cut Pro. Both versions of the public beta can be downloaded here.

"We're always looking for ways to make the workflow smoother and have synchronization easy for people to use for their editor of choice," says Singular Software CEO Bruce Sharpe regarding the new Connector. PluralEyes synchronizes audio and video clips automatically without the need for timecode, clappers or special preparation. Connector links the workflows of PuralEyes and Premiere Pro, which means that editors no longer have to export/import project files but can simply launch PluralEyes as an extension within Premiere.

Singular Software has also made PluralEyes 3.0 for Adobe Premiere Pro editors available as a public beta. The new release, which features an interactive workspace that displays the syncing process as it happens, supports Premiere Pro from CS5.0 and higher. "PluralEyes 3.0 is 10 to 20 times faster," says Sharpe. "Combined with the time saved with better sync and workflow automation, editors will trim even more hours from the production process."

Although Sharpe declined to report an exact number of participants in the public beta thus far, he did reveal that the number is in the thousands. "Compared to what we had before, it's a lot easier to get PluralEyes going and get the results back in," he says. "With the Connector, you're in the Premiere interface, pick a menu item and PluralEyes shows up. You select it and it takes care of the syncing and information exchange between PluralEyes and Adobe. People don't have to be aware of all the communication that goes on under the hood."

Sharpe notes that creating a connector between the two programs is quite different than creating a plug-in. "Our ability to integrate in smoothly is dependent on the host editing application's SDK," he says. "Basically, our type of plug-in is very different from a visual effects plug-in. We're more like a workflow plug-in, and when they were designing products, they weren't expecting companies like ours to create these kinds of products.

This Connector has been among the most requested that Singular Software has received. "Of all the requests we have had, this is probably the most popular one, to make this whole workflow simpler, with less fiddling around," says Sharpe, who notes the popularity Singular Software PluralEyes among Adobe Premiere users.

"This makes the whole process that much easier," he adds. "We also have Connector working with PluralEyes 3.0, which is a tech preview. Version 3.0, which is in beta for Premiere and Final Cut Pro, has a nice visual interface and works faster."

Singular Software PluralEyes, which also supports Avid Media Composer, Sony Vegas Pro and Grass Valley EDIUS is expanding its connections to other Mac-based NLE programs, says Sharpe, who adds that a Windows version is also planned.

He stresses that everybody is welcomed to join the beta for Adobe Premiere Pro and/or Final Cut Pro, which is ongoing. “We welcome everyone’s feedback,” Sharpe says. “One reason the product is as good as it is today is that we’ve had enthusiastic feedback from so many customers. We’re here to listen.”

Singular Software’s PluralEyes is all about the connection, an added functionality to nearly every NLE on the marketplace. By making tools easier to use and free to beta test, the company is taking a strong step towards ensuring its ubiquity.
