Thank you Bob. It's been a long time since I made these but I'm glad that they still get use. I hope one day to have to the time to do some more.

Cheers.

Paolo,

Just adding my thanks to your long list of fans. There are some great blender tutorials out there that are really hard to follow because of almost ADHD presentation style, cursor flying all over the place, not explaining key strokes, and very fast pace. I like your approach and speed, breaking it down to easily digestible pieces. As someone who left behind his teen years before Bill Gates had a consumer product, I really am enjoying these.

Paolo you are the best, I tried a Lynda.com Blender tutorial but I find myself learning a lot more from your tutorials than anyone else I tried, you are the man!

Dear Paolo

I work on After Effects and just started with Blender. Not only are your tutorials the best I have found on the net but I also love your comparisons to AE, it really helps me understand. I am a teacher myself and I think that your standard of teaching, your systematic breaking up of information and especially your anticipation of my questions is almost freakish...like you can read my mind. Thank you this series is awesome, no film school needed.

Likewise I'll probably re-do this one too to get more practice on adjusting my camera and lighting (I messed up my lights at first ;))

You're a great teacher. You ever consider contacting fxPhd and teaching with them? I'd sign up for your class.
Great tutorial :D

Dear Ciccone, I'm really enjoying the way you are presenting the tutorials.
I'm learning a lot and really start to like Blender. I certaintly hope you can make some more.

Thanks again Paolo. Your instructions are so easy to follow even if I have to look at some of them a few times:-) Got my 3D text and 2 lights set up. Onwards.....

Hi Chris.
You can close the render window by pressing Esc. To scroll the buttons in the header press and hold the middle click of the mouse and drag. I mention that in Part 4.
Cheers
Much easier to follow this time around/command for closing render window
by Cris McRae
Is there any key command to close the window that you get after pressing the render button?

When you were showing the SHADING button near the end of the video you highlighted the word PANEL and somehow dragged the button bar across, how did you do that.

p.s. It was much easier to follow this time. I understand why and how you need different views to position the camera and lights.

thanks for the good work

by Paolo Ciccone
@Chris, yes, those late night session can be tiring :)
Getting used to the wide array of options available in 3D can be overwhelming. Keep watching and try to replicate what I show in the video. "Muscle memory" does wonders to understand new concepts :)

@Mark, glad that you decided to give it another try.
Nice

Again learned alot about Blender, especially the lighting tricks. thanks
OK That was a lot to digest
by Cris McRae
Ive got to re-watch this one earlier in the day when Im fully alert. The manipulation of the camera, lights, viewing windows, angles and objects got a little, no a lot, confusing. Not to mention the mouse wheel/ball combo or option-left button combo doing the same thing. but I did create 3D text and kept up with you to a point.
Blender

I gave up Blender last year - I found it too tricky.
Thanks to your simple way of explaining things I'm giving it another go.
Thanks and keep them coming!
