Re: Expression Controls #1
by Paul Bray
It seems that as easy as you would like it to be, it is not, there are issues with duplicating these tutorials, either missing information or missing information. Step by step my results do not match Mr Rabinowitz. There is zero color in my replication even though there are three different color layers.

As many of you know by now, AE 5.0 has introduced a new feature called Expressions. Experienced users akin it to Motion Math, although they are quite different. In this tutorial, Ben Unguren will show you one way to control expressions in Adobe After Effects 5, by using another layer as a 'controller' of a layer with a simple wiggling expression, giving you a great deal more control. If you are unfamiliar with expressions in After Effects 5, you may want to read the chapter 'Creating Expressions' in the After Effects 5.0 manual before continuing with this tutorial.

Expressions in Adobe After Effects 6

With After Effects 6.0, Adobe has introduced some wonderful new functionality to the world of expressions. Most of this is the result of spectacular new features that have been added to After Effects that were not necessarily aimed at expressions but nonetheless dramatically increase the power available to the expression writer. There have also been a few changes and enhancements to the expression language itself.

Learn how to create complex title animations in Adobe After Effects! In my last tutorial I covered how to create, customise and animate simple titles in Adobe Premiere Pro: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6xQtq... In this tutorial we will take things one step further and create titles that are too complex to create with Premiere alone. We will be working with and customising presets, creating character by character animations and we will look at the power of custom Text Animators. Want to learn more about how to animate text?
