Re: Sony Vegas Pro Basics FORTY-FIVE: Compositing Modes
by Jay Gaillard
Hi Andrew,

I never could understand the "child" concept but now i somewhat get it after watching. Thank you. But i still am trying to figure out how i can change the composition modes periodically in the timeline. for example, if i wanted to apply a "lighten composition mode" to a video clip starting at 0:00 and end it at 0:00:20 then apply a "multiply (mask) composition mode" to the same video clips but starting at 0:00:21 to 0:01:00. How could i do this? I find that anything i composite on top track automatically applies throughout the legnth of the entire project.

Please help me out. Thanks in advance.

I am using sony vega Pro 12.

Andrew,

Being a newer user to Sony Vegas Pro 12, I decided to watch all 45 of your little videos. I want to say that I learned something new watching each one of them and got faster and more confident in the program. Thank you so much! You are a wonderful teacher.

Hi Royal

Thank you for taking the time to let me know how you've got on with the tutorials :o)

I am planning for the whole series to get to about 100 by the time I've finished. There are another 10 waiting for CreativeCOW to release and another 7 or 8 waiting for me to edit and upload. I should be able to get on with rest sometime towards the end of October - so come back and see what's new every now and then.

Thanks again for your kind comment.
All the best
Andrew

The ProType Titler is probably the most advanced native title creation tool inside of Sony Vegas Pro and allows you a degree of control which is far greater than with the standard Titles & Text option. However, the interface and the layout of the ProType Titler is somewhat different than the standard tools and will take a little bit of getting use to although for the power and advanced results it is well worth the effect.
