I thought this was very interesting! I am new at this just got Adobe cc and I see I have a long way to go. There is a lot involved but I think in time I will get there.

Thanks again

Hi, Graham... Excellent tutorial. I put a tutorial on this same topic up on the Cow a few years back, also using CC Particle World but employing some different techniques. I must admit your end result is light years ahead of mine... well done. Thanks for posting this and I look forward to learning more from your future efforts.
Regards...

Hi Rob,

Thank you for your kind words. I've just watched your excellent tutorial with the sinking realisation that I wish I'd spotted yours first, before I spent ages figuring out how to get that galaxy look. :)

Can I ask how do I do something like this using 3D objects as particles?

Do I use Trapcode Form or Trapcode Particular or After Effects CC Particular?

That's quite complicated, because the stacks of money are bouncing off each other and spinning in 3D.

At best guess, that looks like it's been generated by Mograph Dynamics in Cinema4D, i'm not sure you could replicate it without a full 3D product like that. I believe Blender (open source 3D) has a dynamics tool. Maybe you could try that?

Thank you very much. I've recently been playing with this plugin a lot and was blown away with how powerful it is.

Here's a link to the project files should anyone need them 10079_ccparticlegalaxy.aep.zip

Excellent tutorial. Thank you so much for sharing your knowledge. I'm also saving up for 'particle effects', so being able to create this using AE's built in particle generator is terrific. I've not learned to use 'expressions' yet, so your use of them in this tutorial may help me get comfortable with them. Thanks again.
