NOBODY is more excited about NAB Show® 2013 than I am! Seeing all the new products and technologies being developed for the broadcast and post-production platforms makes me swell with pride that I am a part of the studio industry! As such, I feel a personal responsibility to ensure that the word is spread about all the new and different gadgets and processes that may become mainstream standards.

Representing Creative COW is the best way to herald all of the fine achievements the various R & D teams at the numerous companies displaying at NAB Show® have produced. I strive at reporting and being the source for reliable and dependable information. This year, however, I have found several additional ways to guarantee the dissemination of material.

Hungry? Need to network over lunch? Here's something new - Bistro @NABShow - The Best Place to Eat, Meet, and Network! Conveniently located within the exhibit hall, the Bistro features assorted menu options, including several fresh and healthy options, international cuisine as well as regional favorites! $20 is areasonable price for an all-inclusive lunch buffet that includes lunch, beverages, dessert and tax. The best thing to do to avoid long lines is to purchase lunch tickets in advance. Reserve a table TODAY and host meetings right on the show floor! Click HERE to purchase your Bistro Tickets!

Aside from the two Livestream interviews I currently know about, I will be reporting for NAB Show® LIVE! -- a daily live webcast where I will add a tech angle with a slant towards fun in several segments and possibly even a guest appearance on set!

Get Access to NAB Show® Session Recordings to ensure you don't miss the best of NAB Show® Select sessions! The best will be digitally recorded LIVE from the 2013 NAB Show become available to you in NAB Show Playback. Downloadable MP3s and speaker handouts are also available. Access to NAB Show Playback is free when you register for the SMART Pass. Already registered? Purchase NAB Show Playback for only $199 ($149 NAB members). Edit your existing registration here. A cut now -- prices increase onsite and post-show.

Still weeks away, people are flocking to discover what they will find at this year's Show. For example, the number of people tuning-in to my Facebook fan page in order to see what is happening is about 14,495 (a 750.6% increase from last week)... all because of the convention. CRAZY!!! Thank you, NAB Show®!

Have something to say and you want to sing it at NAB Show®? Then, Nab Open Mic will give you a 60-second piece of your 15-minutes of fame! Enter the NAB Open Mic Contest for a chance to win a Conference Flex Pass to next year's NAB Show® and other great prizes, including Two Tickets to theAMERICAN IDOL® Season 12 Finale and a LG 55-inch Smart 3D TV. To enter, submit a video of yourself (and your friends, too, if you need back-up singers) performing one of NAB Show®'s approved songs from singer and songwriter legends Sam Cooke or the Rolling Stones. The winner will be selected during the NAB Television Luncheon on April 8, at the Las Vegas Hotel. For more details and sign-up, click here: NAB Open Mic.

I have also been asked to be one of the few chosen panel judges by several organizations to help select unique and outstanding products from NAB 2013 Show. In fact, I have over twenty meetings booked with certain manufacturers and their CEO's which will not only help me be "in the know," but you, my readers, as well!

I've GOT to tell you about the contest! So, I'm talking to the people at NAB Show® and I mention how GREAT it would be if there was a contest where some lucky person could win something... When I suggested some type of workstation that could be used in a professional setting or be really cranked-up for personal use, HP came through with this masterpiece that is simply spectacular! See the Z1 for yourself on the HP website. Enter today to win this top-of-the-line HP workstation by clicking here. All you'll need to do is click to follow @NABShow, send off a tweet and give them your Email address. Don't worry, no SPAM here - the only list you'll be put on is contacts for potential winners. NOTHING could be easier! Many will enter, but only ONE will win -- so, Good Luck!

I plan on having daily updates of how NAB Show® is progressing and posting those on COW… and I intend on starting that coverage at 30,000 feet in the air during my flight to Las Vegas! I want to be informed so YOU will be informed! Because that's just how I roll...

The Drive to Create: The Drive: PAC-12 Football

The 25-year career of 16-time Emmy winner Jim Jorden began with NFL Films, and included 7 years creating programs for NASCAR before returning to football. Along the way, he has led the production of 69 new series on 20 networks, winning Emmys for his work as a cameraman, an editor, and an executive producer. He brings every bit of that experience to bear on "The Drive: PAC-12 Football," now in its second season. It's the first show to cover an entire season, week by week, combining the classically cinematic approach Jim took to his work for NFL Films, and the all-access approach he pioneered with his work on Hard Knocks. You won't want to miss this remarkable look at full-contact TV production.
